Supporting Our Military Families with Faith, Community, and Care

At The Church at Shalimar, we are honored to serve the brave men and women of our military and their families. Located near Eglin Air Force Base, we understand the unique challenges and transitions faced by military families. Our military ministry is dedicated to creating a welcoming and supportive community where service members and their families can find faith, friendship, and encouragement during their time with us.

From Sunday services to community events, we offer a place where you can grow in faith, build lasting friendships, and find comfort during times of transition. Through programs designed to connect hearts and change lives, we seek to support our military community with compassion and care.

Celebrating and Honoring Service

Patriotic Celebration

Each year, on the Sunday before Independence Day, we gather to honor our military with a heartfelt tribute. This special service includes a presentation of the American flag by our Boy Scout troop, the Pledge of Allegiance, and a tribute that recognizes all branches of the military. It’s a day to come together in gratitude and respect for those who serve our nation.

Deployment Care Packages

Twice-Yearly Care Package Drives

We believe in supporting our troops even when they’re miles away. Every June and November, we host a deployment care package drive, gathering essential items and heartfelt notes for troops overseas. Our children also make cards to add a personal touch to each package. This event, sponsored by the Blue Star Moms and the Company Grade Officers Group, is a way to remind our troops they’re not alone and are deeply appreciated by their community back home.

Blue Star Moms Meetings

Community and Support for Military Families

Northwest Florida’s Blue Star Mothers group meets on our campus every Monday at 6:00 pm. This group provides support to the mothers of active-duty service members and veterans, offering a space of understanding, fellowship, and shared strength. For more information, please contact Deb Hutto.
